The Early Days

Every great business starts somewhere and ours began back in 1989 right inside Roger Peplow’s garage. Roger started out making and selling concrete ornaments from home. As word spread and demand grew, he took the leap and bought a small yard in the neighbouring village of Swinton. There, the business expanded into manufacturing concrete paving and posts, though Roger always made sure to keep making and selling his beloved ornaments!

 

Growing the Business

When Roger’s son, David Peplow, left school, he went straight to work alongside his dad. David quickly made his own mark on the company by launching the timber fencing side of the business. Together, father and son grew the yard side by side building a local reputation for heavy duty, quality materials and honest service.

 

A New Era in Wath upon Dearne

By 2013, we had completely outgrown the small Swinton yard. To keep up with demand, we purchased our current, much larger site here in Wath upon Dearne. Roger has officially taken a well-earned retirement, though, even in his 70s, he can't quite keep away. You’ll still catch him down at the yard all the time, tidying up and keeping us all in check!

David has now taken the reins and under his leadership, we’ve vastly expanded our product range, bringing in premium natural stone, porcelain, aggregates and everything else you need to get the job done.

 

A True Family Operation

When we say we are a family-run business, we really mean it! Today, the yard is run by a whole crew of the Peplow family across two generations including David, his sister and a mix of daughters, sons, husbands and cousins all working together. We are incredibly proud of our roots and we bring that same family first, personal dedication to every single tradesperson and homeowner who walks through our gates.
