How many bags of postmix do I need per fence post?

As a general rule, we recommend 2 bags of postmix per standard fence post. This usually gives it a rock solid foundation but if your ground is particularly uneven or you're using extra long posts, you might need a little more!

 

How much sand, gravel or topsoil do I need for my project?

It all comes down to the depth you need for the job! To give you a good starting point, a standard 850kg bulk bag of aggregate will usually cover roughly 10 square metres at a standard depth of 50mm (about 2 inches).

 

Can you calculate how much material I need for my project?

We’re more than happy to help point you in the right direction! We can easily tell you how our products are sold (like coverage per pack or bag) and share the handy formulas we use to work it out.

However, because every garden has its own unique quirks, slopes and depths, we always ask that you or your contractor double check the final numbers before ordering. To make sure you don't end up short (or with way too much left over), the final quantities will need to be your call.

 

Do you supply and fit or do you supply materials only?

We are a supply only merchant, so we leave the digging and building to the pros! 

While we don’t offer an installation or fitting service ourselves, we’ve spent years building relationships with some fantastic, trusted local landscapers and contractors across South Yorkshire. We are always delighted to pass their contact details along to you, just ask us at the shop counter or give our team a call.

Just a quick note on recommendations: While we only recommend tradespeople we know and trust, any work you book in is a private arrangement between you and the landscaper. Because of that, we can't take responsibility for their final pricing or workmanship.
